Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Tuesday filed a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) against Priyanka Gandhi in Goa for allegedly flouting MCC rules during a door-to-door campaign on February 7 in the state.
The TMC claimed that Covid protocols were not followed and supporters and leaders not wearing masks and were not maintaining social distancing.
The party wants Priyanka Gandhi to be barred from conducting any further campaigns in Goa.
Priyanka Gandhi was on a day’s visit to the state and campaigned in several constituencies. While talking at a public rally, she said that if voted to power, the Congress party would reserve 30% of government jobs for women and make provisions for the security of women in Goa.
Priyanka Gandhi also said that parties like TMC and AAP were here only to divide votes and have no chance of forming any government.
Goa will go to the polls on February 14.
