In Pune’s Lohegaon area, a man allegedly killed his girlfriend after she broke up with him. A complaint has been registered with the police and the investigation is underway. The perpetrator is absconding at present.
According to reports, the 39-year-old victim was having an extramarital affair with the accused, who was a tenant in her house.
On February 6, the accused returned from his village, where he had stayed during the Covid lockdown, and got into an argument with the victim.
The argument broke out after the woman broke all ties with him as her family had got to know about the affair. During the argument, the accused allegedly assaulted the woman.
The accused has been identified as Bihar native, Ghulam Shaikh.
COMPLAINT FILED BY HUSBAND
The police complaint was filed by the victim’s husband Raghunath Suryawanshi. The 42-year-old complainant alleged that his wife had an extramarital affair with the accused.
The complaint was registered under sections 302, 452, and 427 of the Indian Pena Code at the Vimantal police station, as per a Times Now report.
Commenting on the incident, police inspector Bharat Jadhav said, “Cops have already gone to Bihar to search for the accused, and will be arrested soon. Investigation to trace the killer is ongoing.”
