Meet Mangeshkar’s third generation

Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last in Mumbai on 6 February. She was 92 years old. But his musical legacy is being protected by the third generation singers in the Mangeshkar family. Mangeshkar sisters Lata, Usha, Asha, Meena and their brother Hridaynath have set a record in the world of music with their singing and compositions. While they are world famous, not much is known about the third generation singers in the family. Here it is to be seen who will carry forward the legacy of Lata Mangeshkar.

Radha Mangeshkar

Radha is the niece of Lata Mangeshkar and daughter of Hridaynath Mangeshkar. Those who know Lata didi can tell that she was very close to Radha and she was also fond of singing. Radha is an expert in Hindustani classical music and started performing on stage at the young age of seven. Apart from Hindi, Radha has also sung in Marathi and Bengali. In fact, Lata Didi launched Radha’s solo debut album in 2009, titled Nao Majhe Shami. Radha plans to produce singing and music in the future.

Zanai Bhosle

Janai Bhosle is the granddaughter of Asha Bhosle and the daughter of her son Anand. Zanai is an emerging singer and made her debut with a special project called 6 Pack, India’s first transgender band.

Zanai’s Instagram page is full of funny videos and pictures and she loves to share sweet moments with her grandmother on her page. A source reveals that Janai, like her grandmother Asha Bhosle, is versatile and diverse in her taste for music and genres.

Rachna Khadikar Shahi

Rachna is the daughter of Meena Mangeshkar and she entered the world of music at the age of just five. His debut album, Marathi Bal Geet, was an instant hit and had several songs that became popular among children. He has had the opportunity to sing on stage with his aunts, Lata and Asha, and has also tried his hand at acting with Marathi theatre. Not many people know that as a child star, he has performed in Kolkata with Asha Bhosle and RD Burman.
