Kerala govt lifts Sunday lockdown; schools, colleges to operate till evening

Kerala government has lifted the Sunday lockdown imposed in the wave of increase in Covid cases. Schools and colleges have been allowed to conduct classes till evening.

Kerala government on Tuesday eased Covid restrictions further and lifted the Sunday lockdown imposed in the wave of a spike in Covid cases.

The schools and colleges will also operate on a pre-Covid schedule. The state government has also allowed classes to continue till evening.

The government is also looking at a possibility for post-Covid registry to identify post-Covid complications.

The government also said that action will be taken against hospitals found to be doing unnecessary Monoclonal Antibody treatment on Covid patients.

Daily Covid cases in Kerala saw a slight increase on Tuesday, compared to a day ago, with the state recording 29,471 fresh infections which raised the caseload to 63,23,378.

Kerala also reported 824 deaths which raised the total fatalities in Kerala to 59,939.
