Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday said that jobs are happening in the country.

FM Sitharaman was speaking at India Today Budget Roundtable 2022, on “State Of India’s Economy The Final Word”.

PRIVATE INVESTMENTS

FM Sitharaman said,”private industry is coming in with additional investments, and also expansion in capacity. Exports have been ramped up. Whenever you expand exports, it signifies the production within the country is growing and that means more jobs are happening.”

“There could be more jobs but jobs are happening in India,” FM Sitharaman said.

Answering questions over job creation, FM Sitharaman said, “people should look at overall developments rather than clinging to one particular number.”

“It is not the government alone that is going to be able to provide jobs. It is also recognized that we need to have skills that are adequately imparted to the youth so that they are able to find jobs,” FM Sitharaman said.
